FlorAlchemy aromatic all-organic frankincense chocolate* is the first of its kind and is packed full of beneficial nutrients to support good feelings and overall health.
All chocolate comes from the cacao nut, sometimes called cacao 'bean'. Cacao is the seed of a fruit from the indigenous Central and South American jungle tree, Theobroma cacao, meaning "food of the gods". It was so valued among Aztecs and Mayans that it was used as currency instead of gold. The Aztec word for cacao, yollotl eztli, means "heart blood", giving insight into the traditional uses and impact of this sacred food.
In recent years, science has confirmed what indigenous cultures already knew about the benefits of cacao. It supports a healthy cardiovascular system, in part through its high antioxidant and magnesium-rich profile. In fact, cacao is one of the highest antioxidant foods ever discovered. It contains a wide array of beneficial minerals boasting the highest magnesium content of any known food.
Additionally, cacao contains a naturally occurring chemical we sometimes produce in our bodies called PEA. Our bodies naturally release PEA when we fall in love, pointing to the strong association between chocolate, the heart and love.
Another unique compound is anandamide, a cannabinoid endorphin, that the body naturally produces after exercise. It is often referred to as the "bliss chemical". The only food known to contain anandamide is cacao. These are just a few of the remarkable components of truly raw cacao.

However, many commercial chocolates are made with refined sugar, high heat, conventional dairy, and artificial ingredients lending toward less than desirable impacts on health and mood. FlorAlchemy's Frankincense Cacao takes the opposite approach straight into a health supporting and mood enhancing chocolate experience!
It is dairy free, sweetened with organic maple sugar and is prepared without the use of high heat aiding in an antioxidant-rich and nutrient-dense bar.
